Story

UPDATE:

£200 target has been met. I am setting a new target of £500 - thank you all for donating!

Hey,

thank you for visiting my page. Each year I try to raise as much money as possible to battle Cancer.

You may or may not know that cancer has had a very big impact on my life. Just last year I lost my mum to a long battle with cancer. Losing her has been a difficult experience for myself and family members but cancer hasn’t stopped and it has continued to effect the lives of people around me.

I am not only doing this for mum but for those that have lost their battle, those that have won their battle and those who are are still fighting their battle.

Cancer takes peoples lives, it hurts families and it deprives you from your basic life functions. I have seen this, I have experienced it and I have shared many emotions that come with it.

1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with some form of cancer during their lifetime

So what am I doing?

I have decided to team up with Gibraltar Society Cancer Relief as I would like to help raise money.

I will be doing an endurance event on the 16th April on the 1st Anniversary of my mum, Rose consisting of:

1. Around the rock cycle (starting approx. 8:30am from Portland House).

2. Around the rock run up to Med Steps and down to eastern beach.

Run - starting approx 9:15-9:30, from Portland House via Devils Tower - Dudley Ward Way - Europa Road - Windmill Hill - Med Steps challenge - Engineer Road - Linewall Road - Devils Tower - Eastern Beach - Finish).

3. Med Steps (starting approx. 10am-10:30 from the beginning of Med steps/ Jews Gate).

4. Eastern beach swim or dip depending the weather/ condition of the sea - (Starting/finishing approx 12 noon 1st life guard post).

For each section I am welcoming friends and family to join me. The company will be great and will not be at a competition pace (sorry but dad life has taken the swift out of me), although I am aiming for approximately 3 hours completion time depending on how the day goes.

Anyone participating please let me know and I’ll add your name to the list!
